Today Henry tries to mediate the Mike/Katie/Simon situation, but despite his efforts someone still ends up with a broken heart.

Henry is at Mike's place, telling him that Katie is at home with Simon.  "Simon's back in town? Since when?" asks Mike.  "Officially, yesterday. He broke Katie out of the Deerbrook and brought her back to the cottage," explains Henry.  "How long is he going to be here?" asks Mike.  "This time - forever," answers Henry.

Not satisfied with the coffee Mike offered him, Henry is mixing himself a martini from a flask and bottle of olives he produces from his pockets.  "Simon may say he's back in town for good, but sooner or later he'll take off. That's the game he plays, Henry, and Katie always loses," says Mike.  Henry says it's different this time.  "Simon's loved Katie for years. But he seems to need her this time. I don't know. Something different about it. If I can see it, so can Katie," he explains.  "You're assuming Katie will take him back," says Mike.  "She will," says Henry confidently.  Mike asks Henry if she told him that and he says, "She doesn't have a choice. The ticker is a - I don't know, it's a funny little beast. You can't just tell it what to do."  "Simon swore he was gone for good. I mean, do you really think he would've told me to take care of her if he thought there was a chance in hell he was coming back. He only did that because he thought he had to. What changed?" asks Mike.  Henry suggest that Simon found out Katie was in trouble.  "Found out how? Mental telepathy?" quips Mike.  "Hmm. That's good. You know, I hadn't thought about that. You know, two people have a long history together," says Henry.  Mike doesn't buy it and Henry tells him about the ad he placed in Soldier of Fortune magazine.  Mike asks why he did that.  "Katie needed some help, and there was no one here who was gonna give it to her," he says pointedly.  "Don't look at me like that. She was out of control," says Mike defensively.  "No, no. Katie was right about Pilar, and no one believed her. Her own sister throws her in the cuckoo's nest, and you, Mike, you turned your back on her. I don't know how else to put it," says Henry.  Mike says he was only trying to help her.  "I know, I know. I know, I know. But you only made it worse," says Henry.  Mike decides he needs to see her.  He grabs his jacket and leaves before Henry can stop him.  "No, Mike, wait a second. Hold on there. They want to be alone," Henry calls after him.  He shrugs his shoulders and takes a drink of his martini.

Mike goes over to the cottage to talk to Katie.  She tells him that she's decided to stay with Simon, and he leaves broken-hearted.  He comes back to his cabin to find Henry laying on the couch.  He jumps up when Mike enters and says, "Hey. I thought I'd wait around and see how things worked out."  "Henry, get out of my house now," says Mike shortly.  "That good, huh? You know, I've heard it's good to talk these things out," suggests Henry.  "Henry, if you don't get out of my house I'm gonna throw you out the window," threatens Mike.  "Got it. I got it," says Henry as he heads for the door.  He pauses and says thoughtfully, "You know, I would like to share some words of wisdom with you. But I don't know any. Talk to you soon."

Transcripts from TVMegasite

Mike: Simon's back in town? Since when?

Henry: Officially, yesterday. He broke Katie out of the Deerbrook and brought her back to the cottage.

Mike: How long is he going to be here?

Henry: This time -- forever.

Mike: Simon may say he's back in town for good, but sooner or later he'll take off. That's the game he plays, Henry, and Katie always loses.

Henry: Not this time.

Mike: How do you know?

Henry: Well, Simon's loved Katie for years. But he seems to need her this time. I don't know. Something different about it. If I can see it, so can Katie.

Mike: You're assuming Katie will take him back.

Henry: She will.

Mike: She told you?

Henry: She doesn't have a choice. The ticker is a -- I don't know, it's a funny little beast. You can't just tell it what to do.

Mike: Simon swore he was gone for good. I mean, do you really think he would've told me to take care of her if he thought there was a chance in hell he was coming back. He only did that because he thought he had to. What changed?

Henry: Maybe he found out that Katie was in trouble.

Mike: Found out how? Mental telepathy?

Henry: Hmm. That's good. You know, I hadn't thought about that. You know, two people have a long history together.

Mike: I don't buy it.

Henry: Or maybe he saw the personal ad that I placed in "soldier of fortune" magazine.

Mike: Why'd you do that?

Henry: Katie needed some help, and there was no one here who was gonna give it to her.

Mike: Don't look at me like that. She was out of control. She --

Henry: No, no. Katie was right about Pilar, and no one believed her. Her own sister throws her in the cuckoo's nest, and you, Mike, you turned your back on her. I don't know how else to put it.

Mike: I thought it was the only way to help her.

Henry: I know, I know. I know, I know. But you only made it worse.

Mike: All right, I have to see her.

Henry: No, Mike, wait a second. Hold on there. They want to be alone.

Henry: Hey. I thought I'd wait around and see how things worked out.

Mike: Henry, get out of my house now.

Henry: That good, huh? You know, I've heard it's good to talk these things out.

Mike: Henry, if you don't get out of my house I'm gonna throw you out the window.

Henry: Got it. I got it. You know, I would like to share some words of wisdom with you. But I don't know any. Talk to you soon.
