Thursday, July 7, 2005 Henry runs into Jennifer (literally) at Metro, and they discover their respective estranged spouses are both in Chicago.
Jennifer confides in her mother that Mike has left her. Barbara tries to convince her to chase after Mike and make things right with him. But Jennifer thinks she should give him some space. She gets up from the table and rushes toward the door, running into Henry. "Whoa, whoa! Whoa, where's the party, and can I come?" he says. "I'm not going anywhere interesting, just running away from my mother," explains Jen. "Oh, yeah. That explains the hurry. What did she do now?" wonders Henry. "The usual -- bad advice," says Jen. Seeing she's upset, Henry asks her what's wrong. "Mike and I got into a fight. And I will spare you the gory details, but he went off to Chicago to be alone. She thinks that I should run after him and beg for forgiveness," says Jen. "Forgiveness? What did you do?" asks Henry. "You don't want to know," says Jen, walking away. Henry stops her and says, "Wait a second here. Did you say he went to Chicago?" Jen says yes and asks him why. "It's nothing. Forget it," says Henry. "No, no, no. No, you have to tell me," demands Jennifer. "Katie went to Chicago, too. Didn't say why. But she made it pretty clear she wasn't coming back any time soon," sighs Henry.
"Let's not jump to any conclusions here, Jen. Chicago is a big town," says Henry, "And there's lots and lots of hotels. And some of them are magnificent, some of them are, you know, not so great. And point being that the Lakeshore is not the only game in town." "That's where -- that's where Katie's staying?" asks Jen tentatively. "Maybe," says Henry evasively. "Of course it is," says Jen, heading out the door.
Jennifer goes to Chicago and knocks on Mike's door. She finds Katie there, and asks them to tell her it's not what it looks like. Mike tells her he can't do that; he and Katie have slept together. Today’s episode was directed by Christopher Goutman and written by Josh Griffith.
