Thursday, July 14, 2005 With Katie otherwise occupied with the drama of Mike, Jen, and her premature baby, Henry finds something else to occupy his time. Carly is at Yo's trying to get ahold of Jack on her cell phone. She's trying to get him to help her find out about her father and why he was in Oakdale years ago. Henry walks into the bar and goes up to the bartender. "What can I get for you?" asks the bartender. "Fifty bucks on Bridal Blues," says Henry, opening the newspaper. Carly gets an idea, walks up to Henry, and taps him on the shoulder. "Hey, Henry!" she says. "Hey, if it isn't Mrs. Detective Jack Snyder," says Henry. "Busy?" asks Carly. "You know, no rest for the wicked, but then who am I telling?" smiles Henry. "Keeping up on your current events too?" asks Carly, eyeing the paper. "Mm-hmm, more or less," answers Henry. "How'd you like to make an honest buck, Henry?" offers Carly. "Hmm, I'm sorry, I'm not in the babysitting business anymore," says Henry. "What about the private detective business?" counters Carly. "Well, the Early Bird detective agency hasn't been in business in a while. I'm not sure my license is up to date," says Henry. "I won't tell if you won't," says Carly slyly. She shows him the picture of her father and says, "Track down the woman in this picture, Henry, and I will keep you in dry martinis for the rest of your life." "Does this beauty have a name?" asks Henry, studying the picture. "Well, I'm sure she does. I just don't know what it is," says Carly. "Hmm, what's the date on this photo?" asks Henry. "I don't know that, either," admits Carly. "So, could you ask around for me, Henry?" she asks. "Yeah, well, unfortunately, I'm analyzing traffic patterns these days. I'm a limo driver or as I prefer to call it -- transportation specialist," says Henry. "Oh, well, don't let me get in the way of your upward mobility," says Carly sarcastically. "Mm-hmm. Tell you what, let me think about it, huh?" says Henry. "All right. Well, you think, and I will scan this picture and get you a copy," says Carly. "I haven't agreed to anything," says Henry. "The only thing the Henry I know loves more than a dry martini is cold, hard cash," smiles Carly. "Well, lucky for you, the Henry you know is back. Why isn't hubby on the case?" asks Henry. "Well, he is, but you are the one with friends in low places," says Carly. "You flatter me," says Henry. "I'm just doubling my odds, Henry. Between you and Jack, this mystery can't stay a mystery for long. Ciao," says Carly, leaving the bar. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by Judith Donato.
