Thursday, August 1, 2002 Lucinda, Rose and Katie are in the hotel lounge talking about the diamond. Paul and Henry come back with some dynamite they bought on the black market. Katie wonders if it will be enough to get Simon out of jail. Impatient, Henry says, "We can stand here talking or go there and make some noise." He and Paul start to leave, and Katie follows them. "Where do you think you're going?" asks Paul. "You don't think you're going anywhere without me, do you?" answers Katie. She tells them they're not leaving without her. Henry tells her she'll be in the way, but Katie insists she can help, maybe by being a distraction. Paul tells her no, Simon would never forgive her if she got hurt. Katie asks him what Rose would do if Paul were in a similar situation. She would go after him, he would be mad, but he wouldn't expect anything less. Henry laughs but Paul listens and agrees to let her go. Henry protests but Paul tells him to just show them where Simon is. They leave and Lucinda wishes them good luck. Simon is sitting in his jail cell and Katie comes in. He can't believe it's her, and she can't believe she's finally found him. They have a tender reunion which is interrupted by Paul and Henry. Henry sees Katie and Simon kissing through the bars of the jail cell and suggests, "Since we're short on time, how about you postpone the sex and get to work?" Simon asks if they got the explosives, and Paul shows him the dynamite. Simon asks if it will be enough. "Are you kidding?" answers Henry. "We'll be lucky if we don't blow this place sky high!" No one appreciates this comment, and Paul tells him, "Maybe it's a good time for you to go back to the hotel." "Good idea, good luck, see you later," agrees Henry as he leaves. Paul sets up the explosives, and he and Katie run out as Simon hides behind his mattress in a corner of the cell. Henry goes back to the hotel and helps Lucinda and Rose look for the diamond. Lucinda remembers that just before he died Cooley said Katie, then Simon. Maybe that's a clue? Henry laughs and says Cooley was not a quick-witted man, it wasn't a clue, they should take it at face value. Lucinda repeats that Cooley said the diamond was with Simon. Rose clarifies that this must mean the real Simon, since the fake Simon obviously doesn't have it. Henry points out that the real Simon doesn't have it either. "God forbid there's a third Simon we don't know about," says Lucinda. They all laugh. Then their gaze falls upon Katie's Coconut Simon from the island that she brought with her for sentimental reasons. Maybe that's the Simon Cooley was referring to! Today’s episode was directed by Christopher Goutman and written by Lynn Martin.
