Wednesday, October 8, 2003 Henry gets hauled into the police station today, where he meets his next partner in crime, baby Sage! Jack and Hal bring Henry into the station, protesting all the way. "You are public servants, I am the public, therefore I order you, immediately, to release me!" "You rented the surveillance van with a bad check, you twit!" says Hal. "And under a false name," adds Jack. "Is that all you have on me?" asks Henry. "How do we make this all go away?" Jack tells him if he pleads guilty he'll get a year's probation and a $500 fine. Henry reluctantly agrees to take the deal. "Smart move, otherwise you'd be looking at six months," says Hal. "As soon as I get the money together," says Henry. "We don't like to hear that," replies Hal. Just then Carly and Sage come into the station to meet Jack. Carly gives him all the instructions and prepares to leave. Jack stops her, saying he has to cover someone's shift and can't watch the baby. Carly calls and cancels all her appointments. She complains to Jack, saying it's his fault for being so picky about the nannies. Meanwhile, Henry is waving and making faces at the baby. He sees her put an eraser in her mouth and yells out, "Sage, don't!" He runs across the room to take the eraser out of her mouth. Henry hands baby Sage to Carly, saying, "Go back to Mommy." Jack comments that it's amazing how Henry took the eraser out of Sage's mouth, like he's been doing it all his life. "Actually, I have. I'm the eldest of eight. The older kids play scrabble, the younger ones just eat the letters," laughs Henry. "And of course it helps that I was a medic during the Gulf War," he adds. "You served in the Middle East?" questions Jack. "Well, yes, Fort Nix. Georgia. For some obscure reason my superiors didn't see me as combat material. But I did all the training and I was ready to serve if called." "Have a seat, soldier, I have your paperwork here," says Hal. "All right. See you later, cupcake. Enjoy your freedom," Henry tells Sage, blowing her a kiss. Jack offers to get the paperwork started and takes Henry into the interrogation room. Carly asks Hal what Henry has done this time, and he explains about the bad check. Carly comments that it's too bad Henry is being punished, he should be rewarded for saving Sage's life! Today’s episode was directed by Steven Williford and written by Craig Heller.
