Katie can only see Brad in her dreams, so she asks her doctor for sleeping pills so she can sleep more.  But Brad is worried about her so he asks Henry to help her.  Katie asks Henry to watch Jacob while she sleeps.  She overhears Henry talking to Brad and tries talking to him herself, but she can't see him or hear his response.

Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by David A. Levinson.

Henry: What, are you serious? Ralph Manzo's been sentenced? He's gone to prison? Oh, Margo, that is such great news. Oh, god, thank you. Thank you so much. Yeah, yeah, bye. [Sighs]

Brad: This is important. I just came from seeing Katie. She's not doing well, man.

Henry: What's wrong with her?

Brad: I don't know. I mean, she made an appointment to see her doctor. I mean, but she's -- she's not acting like herself. All she wants to do is sleep. You got -- you got to do something.

Henry: How many times do I have to explain to you what a restraining order means?

Brad: I don't care, Henry. You got to find out why she's seeing her doctor.

Henry: Why can't you do that?

Brad: Because I cannot help her now the way you can! She's not thinking clearly. Something is off, and I am -- man, I am -- I'm terrified that she's gonna end up --

Henry: Brad, what do you think she's gonna do?

Brad: I'm afraid she's gonna try to hurt herself.

Brad: Katie's doctor just went that way. He should be coming out any minute.

Henry: What, are you a psychic now, too?

Brad: Henry, Henry.

Henry: Bubbles --

Katie: Henry, I can't do this.

Henry: Wait, wait, wait. Please, I haven't forgotten about the restraining order. I just -- I need to talk to you. Can you just give me a minute, please?

Katie: No, I don't have a minute, not for you.

Katie: Don't touch him. Don't.

Henry: I'm sorry. I -- I didn't mean to upset you.

Brad: Ask her about seeing the doctor.

Henry: How did your appointment go?

Katie: My -- how did you know it was my appointment?

Henry: Um, I -- I saw the doctor, uh, leave, and I know that's not Jacob's pediatrician.

Brad: Ask her if the doctor gave her anything?

Henry: I can't ask that.

Katie: Ask what?

Henry: If, uh -- if the doctor prescribed anything for you.

Katie: That's right. That's none of your business. You can go now, Henry.

Henry: Okay.

Brad: No!

Henry: Look, you know where I am if you need me, okay?

Katie: Wait.

Brad: Say yes, whatever she asks you.

Katie: Remember earlier, when you -- watched Jacob while I took a nap?

Henry: Yeah. Yeah, I remember.

Katie: Could you do that again for me?

Henry: You'd let me do that?

Brad: She thinks she can only see me in her dreams. That's why she's obsessed about sleeping all the time.

Henry: That's not good.

Katie: Okay, if you can't do it, you can't do it.

Brad: Say yes.

Henry: Of course. Of course I can. Yes, I'd like that. I -- I'll watch Jacob, yes.

Katie: Great. I'll meet you at the house.

Henry: Yeah. I'll walk you out.

Katie: No. I got to go to the pharmacy first.

Both: Why?

Katie: Don't worry about it.

Brad: Henry, I am scared.

Henry: So am I.

Katie: He should sleep for a while. And, um, if he wakes up, just -- there's a bottle in the fridge. You're very good with him. I know I said that before.

Henry: Uh, still, it's always nice to hear.

Katie: Okay, I'm gonna go lie down.

Brad: She's doing this because of me.

Henry: She misses you.

Brad: But if she's sleeping all the time, she's gonna miss out on our son's life. I mean, he needs his mother. She's all that he has. I can't let this go on.

[Henry scoffs]

Katie: It's gonna feel so good to get some sleep.

Brad: What are you doing? You can't sleep your life away, not for me. Please, Katie. You don't need to sleep to see me. I am -- I'm right here. I would never leave you. You got to -- you got to believe that.

Katie: Oh, if two do the trick, then three or four will make sleep longer.

Brad: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Listen to me. This is crazy! You can't do this! Please! You can't do this. Don't. Don't. Listen to me. I am telling you to stop it.

Katie: Guess I'm more tired than I thought.

Brad: You didn't drop those pills, Katie. I knocked them out of your hand. You know that. I know you do. Will you stop thinking with your mind, and will you just -- will you feel with your heart?! Will you feel me?! I'm right here, damn it!

Katie: Oh, maybe once I get some sleep --

[Brad sighs]

Brad: You don't need to sleep, all right? You don't need those damn pills. I can't stand to see you like this. Katie? Katie? Damn it. Henry!

Henry: Oh, god. Keep it down. I just got him asleep.

Brad: Katie's sleeping, too. She picked up sleeping pills at the pharmacy.

Henry: Oh, my god. That's why she wanted me to watch the baby.

Brad: I'm scared that she's going to hurt herself or the baby. You've got to do something, because she put you in charge. She's asked you to take care of him. If you're still her friend, you cannot let her down.

Henry: I am still her friend. I'm her best friend. I always will be. But she doesn't confide in me like she used to, and I don't know what I can do to change that, Brad.

Brad: I'm counting on you, Henry. You're the only one that can do this for me.

Henry: What you're asking me to do --

Brad: I'm not asking you. I'm telling you. You've got to get Katie to see that I am still here.

Henry: Yeah. That's -- that's really easy for you to say.

Brad: I'm trying, man. I am trying real hard. But no matter what I do, it does not work. She's too closed off.

Henry: I know, I know. If Katie stays this way, she'll -- she'll never see you.

Henry: Look, I love Katie, and I would do anything for her and Jacob. I would. But there comes a point where that will only take you so far. And I -- I wish to god I could make her see you. I do. I would do anything I could -- Katie.

Katie: You were talking to Brad just now, weren't you?

Henry: Let me explain, okay?

Katie: Just tell me, is he here still.

Brad: I'm here.

Henry: He is.

Katie: Where?

Henry: He's right behind you.

Brad: Katie -- she can't see me, and she doesn't really believe that I'm here.

Henry: Just keep talking. Will you just keep talking? Don't stop talking.

Katie: I love you.

Brad: Oh, baby.

Katie: I miss you so much.

Brad: Oh, baby, baby -- I love you. Don't cry. Don't cry. I miss you so much. I love you so much more than you possibly can know.

Katie: Is Brad still here?

Henry: Yeah.

Katie: Why can't I see you?

Brad: Just try real hard, for us.

Katie: I just want to touch your hand or your face or something. I just want to know that this is real, that you're real.

Brad: I am. I am. I want -- I want to touch you, too. I just want to touch you one last time. I've been trying so hard -- real hard -- to reach you. You have no idea.

Katie: Oh, I'm so tired.

Brad: Katie --

Katie: No, no, no, no. No, I don't want to sleep now. I don't want to go to sleep.

Brad: Henry --

Henry: Katie, focus on me. Look at me, Katie. Focus on me. Katie?

Katie: If I sleep right now, I will see him in my dreams, but I want to see him here. I want it --

Henry: Katie?

Brad: Grab her, grab her.

Henry: I got her, I got her, I got her.

[Henry sighs]

Henry: Ooh, ooh, ooh! Look who's awake. Hey, baby. Don't worry. It's just your uncle Henry. I know, I know. I'm not as pretty as your mother first thing in the morning, but she's still sleeping. And no worries. She is fine. I've been checking on her. And your daddy's been in there all night. Yes. You're excited. You know why? You know what today is? It's thanksgiving. Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble. It's your first thanksgiving, isn't it? You're probably wondering what you have to be thankful for. That makes two of us. Well, we've got each other. You've got your mom. You've got your dad, sort of. That's more than most people, I suppose. [Sighs] Who would have thought we'd be the lucky ones, huh, kid? [Laughs]
