Brad is trying to get Simon away from Katie, and Henry is trying to get Katie to let go of Brad.  He takes her to the cemetery to say good-bye, but she can't do it yet.  She needs to find herself again, without Brad.  Later, Brad suggests that he use Henry's body to communicate with Katie.

Today’s episode was directed by Michael Eilbaum and written by Susan Dansby.

Brad: Simon's probably getting his mug shot taken right now, and once he's locked away, it'll just be me, Katie, and the baby -- the way it's supposed to be.

Henry: Only it's not your home anymore because you don't live there anymore because you don't live anywhere anymore because you're not alive anymore, Brad. You're dead.

Brad: I am still here, and Simon's gone, and that's all that matters.

Henry: For you. What about Katie?

Brad: I am all that she needs.

Henry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's every widow's dream -- a ghost husband who is a vindictive, selfish bully.

Brad: What is so selfish about me wanting to be with my wife and kid?

Henry: Uh, I don't know. When Katie cries, can you put your arm around her?

Brad: I touch her all the time. She just can't feel me.

Henry: Oh, okay. Can you hold her hand when she's lonely?

Brad: Look, I am gonna find a way to make her feel me.

Henry: Really? Can you have breakfast with her? Can you feed the baby? Can you change him?

Brad: I make faces at him all the time. He laughs sometimes.

Henry: R-really? That's great. And is that supposed to help Katie out for the rest of her life, Brad?

Brad: This was supposed to be our life -- our life. And it still can be. I'm gonna make it happen, or I'm gonna die trying. All right, you know what I mean. Okay, if you -- if you love Katie the way you say you do, you will make her see that I'm still here.

Henry: What good is that gonna do?

Brad: Then she can decide for herself whether she wants me here -- or she wants me gone.

Brad: So, you're with me on this, right? Simon's a crook. He deserves to be in jail.

Katie: Henry, hi.

Henry: Hi.

Brad: What's he still doing here?

Henry: I heard you got arrested.

Simon: Oh, yeah, Mate. I got off on a technicality. They don't call this the land of the free for nothing.

Brad: How the hell does he get away with everything?

Henry: And you're okay with this?

Katie: Yeah. To be honest, I'm relieved.

Brad: Katie, no. Get the baby and get away from this guy. He's no good.

Katie: Oh, we were just about to eat. Do you want to join us?

Brad: I can't stand this.

Simon: You are not gonna cook. If you don't want to go out, how about I go get some take-out?

Katie: Oh, I would love that. Thank you.

Simon: Yeah? All right. Be right back.

[Door closes]

Henry: So, are you really happy about this?

Katie: Yeah, I am. Because Simon's my friend. Don't look at me like that, Henry. You know I still love Brad.

Henry: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That goes without saying. You always will. Uh, but you can't hold on to him.

Katie: Yes, I can. He's the father of my baby.

Henry: He's gone, Sweetie.

Katie: I know, but --

Henry: No, no. [Sighs] Okay, no, no, no, no, no. I-I-I -- this is partly my fault. I shouldn't come in with all that ghost stuff. Um, I should have just kept my mouth shut.

Katie: Can I ask you something? Do you still see him? Brad's ghost? Does he still talk to you?

Henry: Grab the baby. You're coming with me.

Katie: I don't want to be here. It's too cold for Jacob.

Henry: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Listen. I happen to know that Jacob loves the cold. It puts him to right to sleep. What do you know? He's asleep. You need to see this.

Katie: I've seen Brad's grave before.

Henry: He's there, Katie, and he's not coming back.

Katie: Don't you think I know that?

Henry: Knowing it and believing it -- that's two different things. I need you to believe that he's really gone.

Katie: Why?

Henry: Because -- Bubbles, you deserve to have your own life.

Katie: Oh, this is about Simon, isn't it? Don't -- don't do that. I can't just forget about Brad and move on with Simon because he happens to be available.

Henry: No, listen. No one knows better than me that Brad was one of a kind. But he died, Sweetie. You didn’t. And your son needs you to raise him.

Katie: I still don't know why we're here.

Henry: I need you to talk to Brad. I need you to tell him that you're not looking in the past anymore. You're looking forward.

Katie: Wait. Brad's here? Where is he?

Henry: Yeah, he is, he is. He's over here. No amount of wishing is gonna bring him back. Say goodbye, Sweetheart. Let him go.

Katie: Brad -- Sweetheart. [Voice breaking] I can’t. I can't say goodbye to him. I'm sorry. I can't do it. I can't do it.

Henry: I'm sorry I did this. I -- I love you so much, and I -- it seems like everything I do, I just make your life harder, and I just want you to be okay.

Katie: I want that, too. Oh. You know, you'd think that if you've been to a place, it would be so easy to get back there.

Henry: I'm not following.

Katie: I loved Brad so much. And I chose to share my life with him. He should not have become my life, but he did. I need to find myself again, but I don't know how to do it. I'm just scared. I don't know how to do it. No matter how hard I try, I can’t.

Henry: You will. You will. Trust me.

Katie: How? I don't know how. And just looking at this piece of stone and trying to say goodbye to it and put an end on everything that I felt for Brad, it just is so -- maybe if I can see him like you do.

Henry: Sweetie, I'm the crazy one here, not you, okay? That's not gonna work. We're gonna have to figure out something else.

Katie: [Sighs] I don't think I can do that.

Henry: [Sighs]

Brad: Oh! I have a plan!

Henry: Great. That's great. You can tell me about it later.

Brad: No, this can't wait. This can't wait. This is it. Okay, this is the answer. Are you listening?

Henry: If I listen, will you go away?

Brad: Absolutely. Right after you say, "Yes."

Henry: Yes to what?

Brad: I have been doing some research about the, you know, how-to-talk-to-Katie thing, and the way it works is, you get a friend, and for a while, you zoom into their body.

Henry: No.

Brad: It doesn't hurt. I mean, no permanent damage.

Henry: No.

Brad: All I have to do is be inside just for a little while. So, can you do it?

Henry: No.

Brad: Come on. Just a little quick jump-in. I talked to Katie, get her to kick Simon out, and then -- and then we're done.

Henry: No. You are not jumping into my body, you are not taking over my body, you are not talking through my body. My body is my temple. It is a sacred space. No outsiders -- no!

Brad: Can't we at least talk about this?

Henry: Yeah, yeah, sure! From over there -- from way over there.

Brad: Come on. Don't be so paranoid.

Henry: Brad, you cannot have my body, okay? If I have to, I'll have you exorcised or ghostbustered, or whatever, and you'll never see Katie again.

Brad: Okay, okay. Okay, you're right, you're right. It was a dumb idea. I mean, no one in their right mind would want to let somebody take over their body.

Henry: That is the first sane thing you've said in a long time.

Brad: I'm just -- I'm so desperate, man. You know how it is. What would you give to be able to talk to Vienna again right now?

Henry: Anything.

Brad: And she's thousands of miles away.

Henry: Maybe more than that. I have no idea where she is.

Brad: But in my case, I mean, Katie -- she's right here.

Henry: [Sighs]

Brad: And being able to see her and not touch her -- I never thought anything could be so painful.

Henry: Look, we are, uh -- we're both wiped out right now, okay? Can we table this? And I'm gonna take a nap, and then you pop out to wherever it is you pop out to, and we can talk about this later, all right?

Brad: Okay.

Henry: I'm sorry, Brad. [Sighs]

Brad: Me too, pal. Me too.
