Friday, December 11, 2009 Brad's ghost is able to possess Henry's body, but not without a fight! Once he takes over he's about to go see Katie when Vienna arrives! She's happy to see her Henry and sorry she missed everything surrounding Brad's death, but Henry/Brad brushes her off and rushes over to Katie's house, where he's able to hold his son. Katie notices that Henry is acting a bit weird, but Simon shows up before he can tell her who he is. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by Leslie Nipkow.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Henry: Oh, whoa! Uh -- Henry? Holy moly. I did it.
Henry [Brad]: Oh, yeah. Henry, my man. Mmm. You got great taste in scotch. You really do. I tell you what, this beats a ghost -- dude. Okay, I mean, why are you so scrawny? I'm sure you tried and everything, but how about some priorities, you know? I mean, my body's my temple, and yours is, like, a convenience store. Henry: Brad, brad! You get out of my body, okay? You are not allowed to hijack my body, okay? That isn't right! Henry [Brad]: Hey, man, come on. I just need to borrow this just for a little while so I can set something straight. Henry: What do you mean, "borrow" it? What do you mean, "borrow"? What am I, a library book to you? Henry [Brad]: Come on! [Laughs] You really want me to answer that question, dude? I mean, okay, come on -- Henry: No! Listen to me. You listen to me, all right? You are not allowed to try out my flesh and then give your own little personal critique, okay? Especially when you are an uninvited guest! Now, security! Henry [Brad]: Henry, listen to me, dude, okay? Hold on! Just listen to me, Henry, all right? Listen to me, man. I mean, okay, I'm just gonna have to ask you to disappear just for a little while, okay? Just disappear for a little while. [Heavy breathing] Okay. Now -- yeah, this has got to go. What do you got in here? [Laughs] Oh, good, good, good. Sweet! Yeah, that'll work. That'll work. Mm-hmm. Way to go, buddy. Hang on, baby. I'm coming home. Vienna? Vienna: Oh, Henry!
Vienna: Oh, god! I was sailing the south pacific with my friends and we were completely out of touch with the mainland, and then when we got to Bali, I went online to see if Katie had had a baby and gone back to work at "Oakdale now," and that's when I saw the picture of brad and read the story about his death and -- oh, god! Oh, god! I was so sad, and I jumped on the first plane back here for you and Katie, and she must be so devastated! Henry: Yes, it was a terrible, terrible tragedy. You know, brad -- brad, he was the best. Vienna: Yes, he was. What are you doing? Henry: I'm sorry. You caught me in the middle of something, liebchen, and, uh, I just -- uh, it's an important appointment. I got to get going. Vienna: What? Henry: Yeah. I just -- it's not like I knew you were coming. Vienna: Well, maybe I should have called first, but I wasn't sure if you wanted to talk to me. Henry: What are you talking about? Of course he wants -- of course I want to talk to you. Of course I do. I don't know how much time I have now, okay? Vienna: Okay. What does that mean? Are you sick? Henry: It's really -- it's too difficult to talk about, okay? Look, I got to get going, okay? Vienna: No, no, no! Wait! I flew halfway around the world to comfort you! Please, just let me be here for you right now. Henry: Vienna, Vienna. Vienna: No, no. Come, come. Please, lay down here and let me make you feel better. It's been so long since we've been together, and I missed you so much. Henry: I'm just so busted up about it. I mean, brad, you know -- I mean, brad, he's like -- brad's the best, okay? He's the best, and he's the best friend a guy could have. He's irreplaceable, and I just -- I'm just still so choked up about it. Vienna: Okay. How is Katie taking it? Henry: She's not taking it very well. In fact, I got to go over there right now and talk to her about it, make sure she's okay. Vienna: No, well, I'll be coming with you. Henry: No, no, no, no. She only wants to see me. I'm sorry. Hey, welcome home, okay? [Door slams shut]
Henry: Thanks. Desk worker: Excuse me. Mr. Coleman? Henry: Yeah, just, uh -- just charge them to Henry's -- charge them to my room, all right?
Katie: Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh. The baby's going to sleep, hopefully. Henry, what's wrong? Henry: Nothing. Bubbles. Hi. Katie: Hi. What's with the flowers? Henry: Um, well, I saw them and I thought they were beautiful like you, and I thought Katie deserves them. Katie: Wow. Thanks. What are you doing? Henry: You got something, a little something. Katie: Oh, sorry. Henry: Oh, no, no, no. Don't apologize. Katie: Babies are so messy. I do laundry at least once a day now. Henry: Uh, I could help. Katie: No, you can't. You don't do laundry. Henry: I don't? Katie: No. You send it to housekeeping. Are you feeling okay? You're acting a little weird. Simon: I wish life had been easier for you starting out, mate, but you'll get through it. Your mum's a fighter, and I'm sure she's passed that on to you. And if you don't mind, I would like to stay around and help you and her for as long as I can. Your dad was a lucky guy. Henry: I didn't mean to, you know, cross a line with all that beautiful talk. I mean, you know, you know I think you're beautiful, right? Well, like a friend is beautiful, like platonically. Katie: Where is all this coming from? Henry: I just miss brad, and if I miss him this much, then you -- I want you to know that I'm here for you, okay, and that I want you to be okay, for brad, 'cause I don't doubt for a single, solitary moment that that is what he wants more than anything. Lily: Oh, my god. Are you all right?
Henry: You are looking amazing. Katie: Amazing? Henry: Yeah. I mean, you could have let yourself go after the baby and the funeral and the bad stuff that happened to you, but you are looking amazing. Your hair. Katie: Oh, it's not even washed. Henry: Well, you can't tell from here. Maybe if you let me smell it. Uh -- sorry. That was -- over the line. Got it. Sorry. Uh, hey, uh, you know, I was walking by a kids' store and I saw something that I thought would be perfect for Jacob. Katie: Oh, I love it! Brad would have loved this! He would have picked it out for him himself! Henry: Totally! Totally! That's -- I always said -- brad always said to me, you know, when he found out you were having a son, right, he always said he wanted to get him started right away and make him the Walter Payton of the peewee league. Katie: Do you even know who Walter Payton is? Henry: Yeah, I know things. Uh, some about sports. You know, it's from, uh, from the crossword. So, uh, let's -- try it on him! I want to see if it fits. Katie: Okay, let me see if he's awake. Henry: [Sighs] Oh, Katie. Katie: I think it's a little big for him right now, but he'll grow in to it. Henry: Hey. I think he recognizes me. Katie: Henry, he can barely focus right now. Henry: No, no, no. He knows me. You're looking good, little fella. Can I hold him? Katie: Sure. Henry: Hey. Hey. Katie: Henry, what is it? Henry: I have to tell you something. Simon: Hey, Henry.
Katie: Henry, what did you want to tell me? Henry: Nothing. It slipped my mind. Simon: Oh, couldn't have been too important, then. Henry: How would you know? [Jacob starts crying] Simon: Hey, hey, mate, chill. It's all right. It's all good. Katie: Oh, Henry, now you've upset the baby. Henry: No, no, no. It was him. Jacob was fine until crocodile Dundee showed up. Simon: Oh, that is lame, even for you. Katie: Okay, you two, calm down. I don't need this right now. Henry: Sorry. Simon: Yeah, sorry. Katie: Here. Whatever it is, you two figure it out. I'm gonna take Jacob out for a walk. Usually puts him right out. [Jacob stops crying] Simon: See you soon. Katie: Mm-hmm. Thank you. Henry: What are you still doing here? I thought wanted men were supposed to keep running. Simon: What are you on? I thought we decided I was gonna stay and help Katie get over brad. No matter how long it takes.
Simon: It is unhealthy for Katie to think that brad is gonna come back to her. No relationship can transcend death. Henry: You don't think that's possible? Simon: No, mate, I don't. Dead's dead. Henry: He was the only one for her. Simon: Um, with all respect to the dead, Henry, no relationship is that good. Henry: Actually, it was. Brad and Katie were incredible together. You've never seen two people love each other the way those two did. Simon: Really? Henry: Yeah. Damn straight. And brad was fantastic, okay? He was funny and he was handsome and he was loving. He was awesome! You don't even know! And he was perfect for Katie, and he would have been a good father! He would have been the best father! And Katie is never getting over him.
Henry: I'm not saying Katie shouldn't get over him. You know, eventually. That's why I brought her to the cemetery, right, for closure. Simon: Is everything all right? Henry: Yeah. Why wouldn't it be? Simon: It's just, uh -- I don't know. Why did you come here, anyway? Henry: Well, Katie's my best friend, and I wanted to make sure she was okay. Simon: Let me assure you, she's fine. I'm here. I'm taking care of her and Jacob very nicely. Henry: That is so great of you. Simon: Yeah. Well, in fact, I should give her a call, check in on her. See how she's doing.
