Wednesday, December 17, 2003 After a month and a half's absence, Henry returns to Oakdale. Well, presumably he's been in Oakdale this whole time, we just haven't seen him. On yesterday's show Carly called Henry to help her do a little digging into what Rose's former best friend Mitzi has been up to. Carly suspects Mitzi of poisoning Rose on the day of her wedding. Today's show opens with Henry walking into Al's Diner and sitting down at a booth with Carly, who's been waiting for him. "Henry, you were supposed to be here 20 minutes ago," she complains. "Well, yeah, well, in my line of work deadlines are often approximate," says Henry mysteriously. "You don't have a line of work, Henry. Unless you consider selling your soul a full-time job," says Carly snidely. "One needs a buyer in order to sell. And I believe you called me inquiring about my services," responds Henry. Carly agrees and asks Henry what he found out. He tells her that Mitzi bought a train ticket on the morning of Rose's wedding. "I knew it. Mitzi is the one who poisoned Rose!" exclaims Carly. "Whoa, whoa, whoa. My report mentioned a train ticket purchased. I didn't say anything about murder," says Henry. "Henry, think about it. She bought the ticket on the morning of the wedding. That would've given her plenty of time to come into town, go to the church, put the poison in Rose's champagne glass and then leave town before anybody even knew she was here," theorizes Carly. Henry clarifies that the credit card only said a ticket was purchased, it didn't say she came to Oakdale. Carly insists that Mitzi was in town. "Why? Why, because that's what you want it to be?" asks Henry. "Because Rose D'Angelo was a friend of mine, and I'm going to find out who killed her," replies Carly. She gets up to leave and Henry asks where she's going. "To give Jack the good news," says Carly. But when Carly gets to the station, she changes her mind about telling Jack. She decides to pursue this lead on her own. Today’s episode was directed by Habib Azar and written by Craig Heller.
