Friday, December 18, 2009 Brad is helping Henry win at cards. He's also trying to sabotage Katie selling their house. Later, at Metro, Brad spies Katie dancing with Simon and tries to get Henry to stop them. Henry refuses so Brad the ghost roughs him up a little, leading Jack and others to wonder what's going on with him. Desperate, Katie shows up at Henry's door asking him to help her talk to her husband. Today’s episode was directed by Michael Eilbaum and written by Leslie Nipkow.
Transcripts from TVMegasite Henry: Oh, Henry, you have not lost your touch. Drawing to an inside straight? [Whistles] That took nerves of steel. Profound sense of card play, the keen ability to read the various and sundry tells of your opponents. Brad: With a little help from your pal, Bradley the friendly ghost. You would have folded like a tent if I hadn't read the other players' hands. Henry: You know, you make a great ghost but a lousy psychic. I wanted them to think that I was gonna fold. Okay. I couldn't have done it without you. Fine. We're even, Brad. We're even. I let you borrow my body for a few hours -- Brad: You let me? Henry: And then, in exchange, you get me some cold, hard cash. We are square now. You got what you wanted. You got to hold your son. That's kind of a miracle. Brad: But it wasn't enough. Holding Jacob, I could feel his heart beating in my hands. Henry: Well, technically, it was my hand. Brad: And the way he looked at me, he knew. He knew who I was. But Katie didn't. I couldn't tell her. But I got to touch her face. I want to be with them again. I mean really be with them. I want us to be a family. Henry: Sorry, Brad. I wish I could help you do that, but it's too late. You're dead. Brad: Not all the way. I'm not ready to go, Henry. I will be. Look, I just need one more favor. Henry: No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Possess me once, shame on you. Possess me twice, shame on me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. You're my best friend, Brad, but your all-access pass has been revoked, okay? Brad: Fine. Fine. I'll find another way to be close to my family. Henry: Katie's not the only one that needs to move on, you know?
Henry: Oh, thank god I'm not too late. Simon: Well, a bit, mate. Do something, Henry, will you? Henry: No, would you stop? You can't keep doing this. This is not your property anymore! Brad: Oh, yeah? Pam: Is he talking to a -- Simon: A ghost? Yeah, that pretty much sums up the situation. Brad: Not the same ghost, bud! Katie: What happened?
Katie: Henry, what are you doing here? And where's Pam? Simon: Pam? Oh, she had an urgent phone call. She had to leave. Katie: Did she throw a chair at you on her way out? Simon: Yeah! She had a really bad attitude as soon as you left the room. Katie: Henry. Henry: No, no. Don't look at me like that. Okay. Brad. Brad scared her off. Brad: Thank you! Captain kangaroo over there is next. Katie: I cannot handle this anymore. I'm going to my brother's wedding, alone. And that goes for you, any ghosts who might be listening. Brad: What did I do? Simon: You need to fix this, Henry. Henry: Me? Simon: Yes, mate. You're the one who can see him. Henry: You say that like it's a good thing. Simon: Just do it, for Katie's sake, all right? She's gonna have a tough enough time as it is selling this place. Oh, yeah. And, Brad, why would you force her to live someplace that makes her miserable? Brad: Miserable? Miserable? Henry: Wait, wait, wait! Simon is right. Simon is right. She is miserable living here. It's like the museum of you, and she shouldn't have to think of her loss every time she picks up a fork or changes a light bulb. That's no way to move on. Simon: Yeah. Would you rather her not get on with her life? Why do you want her to get stuck here like she's just waiting for you to come home from work? 'Cause that's the life you're forcing her to live! Brad: I make Katie happy. Henry: Whoa, whoa. No. You know what? You don't. You don't. I'm sorry. Katie: Okay. I am out of here. Brad: That's my dress. I mean, that's the dress that she wore for our first anniversary, our only anniversary. Henry: You look beautiful, bubbles, as always. Katie: Can you watch Jacob for me? Simon: Yeah. Not a problem at all. Henry: No, no. Take Simon with you. I can take care of Jacob. Brad: Traitor. Katie: All right. Simon: You sure, though? Katie: Yeah. Simon: Okay, cool. Let's go. Henry: Relax. I've got everything under control. Simon: Yeah. Brad: If you think I'm staying here and letting him hit on my wife, you're crazy.
Henry: Uh, here. Show the kid how it's done. Okay? Listen to me, this is a dance! Brad: I have to stop this! He's trying to steal my wife, Henry! Henry: How many times do I have to say this? She is not your wife anymore. Brad: You don't think I know that? Listen to me. I wish I was dead. Okay, you know, I mean like dead, dead. I mean, like, really dead. Anything is better than to have to watch Katie forget that I ever existed. Henry: That is impossible. Brad: I can't do this anymore, man. I can't stand it. I can't do it. Please, please, please let me borrow your body one more time. Let me have at least one last dance with my wife, please. Please. Henry: Brad, I am sorry. The answer is still no. Jack: What's wrong with Henry? Henry: He is your brother. Would you please talk to -- ow! Look, would you -- ooh!
Jack: What the hell was that? Henry: You don't want to know. Jack: Yeah? Yeah, I do. Why in the hell were you yelling at me about my brother? Henry: Because he's here. Jack: Brad? Henry: Yeah, well, what's left of him. He's -- oh, that's just typical! Thanks a lot! That's what he does. He pops in and out like a ghost. Jack: You know what? You need to sober up quick, okay, pal? Henry: I'm not dru-- look, you don't have to believe me. Jack: I don't. Margo told me you were seeing things. I just assumed you were trying to lighten things up for Katie. Henry: What, by telling her I'm hanging out with her dead husband? Jack: Excuse me. He's also my brother. Henry: I know. I'm sorry. Jack: You're supposed to be Katie's friend. How could you play such a cruel trick on everybody like this? Henry: What are you tal-- do you think I knocked my own self on my butt there? Look, he was here. It's your brother, jack, okay? Look, if you don't believe me, ask Simon and Katie. They'll tell you it's the truth. Teri: Hey, this is gonna help with the swelling, all right? Henry: Hey, that's great. That's just not exactly where it hurts, though. Ow.
Henry: You know, for a ghost, you sure fight dirty. Brad: Serves you right for not letting me dance with Katie. Henry: This is real life, not dancing with the dead, okay? Your footloose days are over, Bradley, and the sooner that you accept that, the better. Bubbles. Katie: I need your help, Henry. I want to talk to Brad.
