| Trent occasionally posts at The Soap Yard Message Boards, as "TrentD" (and at the old ososunny.com message boards, as "td" or "Uncle_Henry" or "MrColeman"). Here are some of his recent posts: August 31, 2008, 10:30 pm - "Hey Gang" As always, thank you for your support. I was just going to post with that and a heads-up that I'd love any help for my 4th year in the Komen run (Komennyc.com) in Central Park to fight breast cancer. Then this jerk named Gustov showed up in the Gulf, so now I'm asking for your best thoughts and prayers. TPTB look much improved since Katrina, but Gustov looks ugly. Happy Labor Day! Thoughts and prayers, please. -Trent
February 4, 2008, 10:16 pm - "That's right happy birthday to me!" In the middle of a trifecta here, gang. Last night, Eli, the native son of Louisiana, youngest boy of my childhood sports hero, Archie Manning, defeated the greatest team ever and won the MVP. NYC is CRAZY right now. The good crazy. What a joy! I go into work today
on my birthday, and lo and behold, there is a King Cake and a pile of beads from
"your fans" (FYI the cake was devoured at break-neck speed, and Marni
found the baby). After delivering beads all over the studio, I was somewhat chagrined
that protocol was not obeyed (then again, I didn't want some kind of creepy
lawsuit). In the end, Austin and I exposed more tits than anyone. (He's got
great tits, by the way).
November 26, 2007, 8:15 pm - "Hi All!" I hope everyone had a
great Turkey Day. I have continued my Thanksgiving tradition of visiting my Dad
and his wife in Florida and eating to the point of sepsis. In fact, we're about
to start eating again right now! That's OK, since I'm sure I'll burn it all off
at the stadium tomorrow watching the Tampa Bay Bucs (yeah. right.).
February 20, 2007, 11:34 am - "Happy Mardi Gras!" Hey y'all - Hope
everyone is enjoying themselves on this Shrove Tuesday. First off, thanks for
the pre-nom kudos and birthday wishes (and the delicious goodies!).
December 25, 2006, 10:17 am - "HOHOHO" Merry Christmas,
Happy Holidays and A Happy New Year to all! Thank you for your fantastic support
and a great year!
August 17, 2006, 1:14 pm - "Hey Gang" It's been a while since I've said hello, but I have been checking in.
Obviously, it's been a strange summer. I have neither the language nor, quite
frankly, the courage to eulogize Benji, except to say that he was my friend and
I miss him. Your posts, e-mails and snail-mails to me and my colleagues have
provided tremendous support during this difficult time, and I thank you for it.
February 10, 2006, 9:06 pm - "lordylordylordy" OK.First off: What a week! Birthday, work, nomination, work, severe cold,
pictures for the 50th of ATWT (yeah!).
September 26, 2005, 4:50 pm - "Thanks to all..." ...for your responses to the "please help" post. It's been a dicey
situation, obviously, and now Rita has just compounded things, but I'm hearing
resolve from the folks down there. Your donations, prayers, volunteering, and
especially churches (they seem to have been the only folks w/their acts together
regarding distribution of supplies and communication in the early going) have
made a real difference. We're trying to organize a group of daytime folks for a
relief visit down there. It meant a lot to hear from you guys. Hope to see some
of you at Blondies tomorrow night. We did a similar event there after 9/11, and
it's a good way to punch tragedy in the face.
September 1, 2005, 7:27 pm - "Please help" Hello folks. My state, as well as its neighbors, have been hit far more
savagely than I have ever imagined. Most of my mother's side of the family is in
Baton Rouge (those in N.O. got out before Katrina hit), but the situation there
is desperate. When I finally got through to one of my aunts yesterday, a steel
magnolia if there ever was one, she broke down in mid-conversation. BR has
little to nothing after Katrina, but much of the N.O. populace has been dropped
there. Food, water, fuel is not to be found. People are resorting to desperate
means. People are perishing in front of them and there is nothing they can do.
THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION.
July 14, 2005, 9:16 pm - "response" Hey folks! Just wanted to get back to you re: your comments/questions from my last post. First, thanks for all the love. I know I've said it before, but it means a tremendous amount to myself and my colleagues to have such support. Second, thanks to the cyber-Max-Ernsts (just saw his collection at the Met, so he's on my mind), P.Sparky and suzi. PS sent me a great collection of prints of her work as well as a "Kenry" DVD, which I got today and will watch as soon as the Yankees beat Boston (pleasepleaseplease). They've obviously got a good program at Ohio State. And the hair dept. is very grateful for your gift, suzi. I'm sure if you're ever in town, we can get your "shaggy" head a cut.Glad you're all excited about little sister Maddie. Yes, OceanView, she is similar to Henry in some ways : very cunning, somewhat manipulative, but with some hurt. I hope they give us many adventures together. You guys are awesome - T AH! Just tied up in the top of the 6th!
June 21, 2005, 9:43 pm - "Hello Fabulous Board!" Hey gang - Hope you're enjoying the show. Henry is here and there in June, but the schedule ratchets up in July w/ the intro of my little sister, Maddie. I see that some of you had a chance to meet her at the softball game (sorry I wasn't there, but sometimes life casts me in a real soap opera and doesn't even have the decency to reimburse), and she was pleasantly overwhelmed by the response. Alexandra is great - adorable, bright, talented, solid, and a pistol. They've thrown her in w/Terri, Mark and I, and it's been FUN.To the cyber-artists suzi and princesssparky05 (as well as any others), some of my colleagues got all excited about the designs from this site recently, and they want to know how to get copies/blow up pieces of your work (the hair dept. is especially interested in posterizing Gone W/the Wind). I'm a computer moron so I don't what to do, but I just wanted to let you know how much your work is appreciated. That's all for now, folks. Missing Hunt and Caddie - Trent
April 19, 2005, 5:06 pm - "Hey Awesome Fans!" What a great weekend! It was wonderful to meet some of you and to see familiar faces. "Martinis with Henry" was a hoot, as my liver can attest. Jill and Kendra did an amazing job, and I hope we can continue the love fest as a yearly event. I called Terri afterwards and she was glowing - thrilled to meet you and so happy that there is such a supportive group out there. And I made off like a BANDIT! I now have more martini-related paraphernalia than I thought existed, and as I desperately need apartment decorations, I couldn't be happier. I am so grateful for the effort and creativity that was put into these gifts. And my colleagues couldn't stop talking about the tattoos!Well, I'm not shooting this week (although Mark and I are doing a good chunk of PR), but I start up again next week and I'm really looking forward to reading the scripts. I don't know where they're heading, but hey, it's been a good ride so far. I love the graphic I saw: " Finally, Henry gets the girl". Couldn't have said it better myself. It's all good - Trent
February 8, 2005, 11:49 pm - "Well what do you know" Hey gang! I just wanted to let you know that, due in no small part to your efforts, the folks at ATWT offered me a contract and I accepted. I think it's the right move for now, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this decision leads me. Hope you're enjoying the storyline, and that you'll be as surprised by where its going as I am.Thank you - Uncle Henry
November 15, 2004, 8:48 pm - "Thank you" Hi gang. Just wanted to thank you for the anniversary greetings and goodies, both to myself and tptb. The studio really took note, and I think the campaign is doing some good. It's hard to believe it's been 5 years. Terri and I were shooting today and thinking about the old WOAK days, and how far our characters have come since then. It's been quite an adventure.Speaking of Terri, we're working together a lot, and I think you guys are going to love the direction that Hogan and the gang are taking us. We are way ahead of schedule, so it will take awhile to develop, but I think it will be worth the wait. Enjoy - Trent
November 8, 2004, 3:29 pm - "The Campaign" Hi all! Thank you jes and everyone for the I Love Henry campaign. I am in full support!I've been back at the studio for the last couple of weeks, and it has been very busy. I loved my hiatus down in Baltimore, but I can't tell you how great it is to be working w/the ATWT gang again. Especially Terri. I was watching her last week in some very difficult and wonderful scenes w/ Mark Collier, and a colleague turned to me and whispered "thank God Terri is back". I couldn't agree more. I really like where the writers are heading right now, and I hope you will, too. We are ahead of schedule, so Hank won't be around until Dec., but then it starts to roll. Thank you for the campaign. -Trent
June 25, 2004, 11:05 am - "Hi all" Hello new board! Yes, Suz, I knew you guys were here, but as Jes pointed out, I'm not computer savvy, and this time of year I spend a lot of time hosting family visitors (although last weekend I went to a wedding in Boston -word of advice: never wear a Yankees cap in Boston). This is a GREAT site, guys. Even this posting area is souped-up. Congratulations. Although I'll be airing through July, I'm not shooting for another month or so. I really enjoyed the last few episodes I had w/Terri before she left for maternity leave. Can't wait for her to get back. Hopefully, the writers will keep Mark and I working together - we've had a lot of fun, and there are many plot possibilities to explore. Going to the subway series Sunday w/Dad and his wonderful wife - Go Yankees! -Trent
All remaining posts are from Ososunny.
February 14, 2004, 4:25 pm - "Happy Valentine's Day...." and a belated thanks to all for the birthday wishes and fabulous gifts from Harry & David. All those goodies made for some good eatin' for The Miser cast and myself at the birthday soiree that I became the unexpected host for. Thank you thank you thank you!The Miser was a lot of fun and a big hit, but doing it and ATWT was pretty exhausting, so I'm glad to be back in NYC just playing Henry for awhile. I'm glad you've enjoyed his recent antics. It was great working w/Paul Leyden again, and the four of us had a great time w/the love triangle storyline. The show is keeping me fairly busy, so there is more to come. Katie and I are on another hair-brained mission. Speaking of Bubbles, I've received a lot of questions recently re: a possible romance between the two of us. You know me - after 4 1/2 years of nothing (w/the exception of Cooley, of course), I'll take whatever I can get (even Snickers is starting to look cute), but I have no idea if the writers are going in that direction. I think Katie still has a lot on her plate in that department. I hope everyone is happy, warm, and maybe even enjoying a little love in their life. -Trent
December 25, 2003, 1:34 pm - "Happy Happy to All" Hi there! I hope this finds everyone enjoying the holidays. In honor of my
two incredible nephews that I'm visiting down here in TX, I'm taking the moniker
"Uncle" today. After the break I head back to Baltimore where I'm
rehearsing another play (this time a hilarious version of The Miser) at Center
Stage, but I shot a lot in Nov. and early Dec., so I think there will be many
appearances of Hank soon. I hope you enjoy it.
September 9, 2003, 6:50 am - "Hi gang" This is your sleepy Uncle Henry giving you a big hello. At the studio now
wrapping up a very funny story line involving Mike, Katy-Bird, and one very
suggestive nurse. Then it's back on the train to Baltimore, a city that I am
falling in love with, to continue my rehearsals on Misalliance at Center Stage (www.centerstage.com,
I think). I've been shooting a lot since August, and I think some of it came out
pretty good (especially w/Katie), but we'll see. Oh, there's also a kid
involved.
February 5, 2003, 6:29 pm - "HI ALL!" Hope this finds everyone well. Thank you for the birthday greetings and the
wonderful flowers that I picked up at the studio today. They were beautiful!
What a year! As Hunt told me a couple of days ago, "You made it, man".
August 2, 2002, 10:07 pm - "Hi all" Hope this finds everyone well. Thanks for the support for the stuff on-camera
as well as my health in real life. Doing much better now, just a good deal
thinner than I was so the stamina is taking time. The good news is now I have
this sexy scar - well, it WILL be sexy. Right now it's red and ugly. But it's
closed up, so I can't complain!
June 6, 2002, 1:15 am - "A Message from Trent's Mom..." This message was posted by Ososunny, who received an email from Trent's mom while he was in the hospital after having an emergency appendectomy on June 1.The flowers I received from you are incredibly beautiful and I appreciate you all for your generosity and sympathy. I will get back to you as soon as I am released and thank you very very much! Trent
May 12, 2002, 12:13 pm - "Happy Mother's Day" Hi folks - just
wanted to say hello and wish all the best to the moms out there. Also, it's
great to have Henry welcomed back so warmly. It was a little strange to return
on the same day that Jake was shot, but I guess it worked out for the best. I'm
happy to be back on the show, and I'm enjoying the opportunity to spend a lot of
screen-time w/people that I've seldom, if ever, worked with. I hope you guys
enjoy it.
March 29, 2002, 11:35 am - "Thank you" Thanks for all the
great salutations for Henry's return. And thanks to Sunny and everyone who
chipped in for the beautiful flowers (they came yesterday but I was already
headed home). I'm getting a lot of "you've got the best fans in the
world" comments from my colleagues here today. I couldn't agree more. Hope
everyone is well, and have a very happy Easter.
March 28, 2002, 12:23 pm - "Hello from the studio" Hi all! Back at work
and they didn't waste any time putting Henry's nose to the grindstone.
Jeezlaweez, I did about a two act play this morning. But it's fun to be back
with the old gang (and many new faces). I have no idea where the story is going,
but it looks like Henry will be up to his neck in it. Something about dead
lawyers and dead sisters and goodness knows what. Oh, Michael Park is here,
scarfing down the INCREDIBLE WELCOME BACK CARE PACKAGE FROM ZABARS THAT ROGER,
PATTY AND LIZ SENT ME THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU (yes, Henry could use it b/c
he lost a little weight eating mangos and running from Cooley. Well, the spin
classes have dropped me a few pounds, too) and he wanted to say hello and that
he's a size 10 1/2 if anyone is shopping at PRADA (what a ham!). Now Leslie and
her son Jackson have discovered the Swedish fish, so there that goes. Well, the
whole studio thanks you (shouldn't have opened this box at lunchtime). Anyhoo,
wherever they're taking this storyline, I hope you enjoy it. It's great to be
back!
February 7, 2002, 2:09 pm - "Thank you" Well, belated thanks
anyway for all the wonderful birthday greetings. Gee, it's great to finally be
old enough to vote. Ha ha. The cake MJ and her son brought by was unexpected and
unbelievably kind, and has now been completely devoured by the cast and myself.
The balloons gave us an opportunity to try our scenes w/helium voices
(off-stage, of course). The cards were great too, and are now part of my
dressing room decor. Not much to report here, except that we close the show this
weekend. And, of course, that Rochester is cold. Have met some great people
here, though, including some ATWT fans who also go to the theatre. Rumors abound
re: Henry's return, but I haven't heard anything yet (except for the Valentine's
Day episode which I was unable to shoot b/c of the play's schedule). Anyway,
thank you all for keeping the faith. I miss the jerk.
December 25, 2001, 3:54 pm - "RE: a few updates to henry's website" Hey! The countdown is
just great!
December 25, 2001, 3:52 pm - "Merry Christmas!" And a Happy New Year
to all of you great fans and friends. Hope this finds everyone happy and safe
and stuffing your face. I have a brief respite from rehearsals so I got out of
the snow and came down to see the new nephew in Dallas, and right now I'm
thoroughly saturated w/turkey. Looks like ATWT is bringing me down on a day off
to shoot a Valentine's Day episode (don't know what hair and make-up are going
to do w/the long locks and sideburns I'm growing for the Miser), and I look
forward to seeing the gang again. The theatre in Rochester is great (thanks for
the updates, Jill) and so is the cast. It should be hysterical. I describe my
character, Cleante, as William Shatner with a feather boa. Actually, that's not
a bad description for Henry.
November 21, 2001, 12:13 pm - "Happy Turkey-Day" Hello from sunny
Florida. In answer to some questions re: the benefit, I am playing Claudio each
performance, and I will be heading up to Blondies following the show on the
29th. If any of you are sticking around through the weekend, I suggest coming to
one of the performances after the benefit. It's a very small space, however, so
make reservations - 212 - 869 - 9809. In the it's-a-small-world category, one of
the actors I'll be working with up in (brrrrr) Rochester is Daniel Travis, who
played the soldier that wheeled Scott around last year. Well, I'm off to the
beach (Ha!), but I wish all of you a very happy, safe Thanksgiving, and I look
forward to seeing some of you in NYC next week.
November 6, 2001, 2:44 pm - "Hi all!" Hope everyone is
well. Thanks for the 2nd Anniversary message (especially the reminder of those
early Henry lines, jes). Didn't have a chance to check in w/you guys b/c I
opened a show on Saturday and the days leading up to it were filled w/
late-night rehearsals tweaking this and that. I'm playing Claudio in a small
production of Much Ado About Nothing at the American Globe Theatre here in NYC
through Dec.2, so if anyone is in town and wants to see it, call for
reservations at (212) 869 - 9809. Immediately after that I'm scheduled to head
up to Rochester to play Cleante in The Miser at the Geva Theatre, where I plan
to lose various extremities to frost-bite (and finally visit Canada). According
to my agent, Henry's return is pressing and in the works, and may follow my
excursion to the frozen tundra of up-state NY. I've been spending time lately
w/Paul Leyden and Terri Conn, and they seem to miss me as much as I miss them,
so I hope it happens. Also, we'll be guest-bartending at Blondies in NYC to
support the NYFD on Nov.29, so if you're in town and want to support a good
cause as well as get a good buzz ( Terri and I tend to pour generously), stop
by.
October 23, 2001, 9:29 pm - "Happy Halloween from Trent and Anne!" (posted by MitziMatters, aka Anne Sayre) Hi everybody, Trent
and I are at my house having a little Halloween get-together and we decided to
post and say Hi!
September 12, 2001, 7:53 pm - "Alive and Well" Just wanted to tell everyone that we're making it through this. I want to thank you and the rest of the country for your support of our city right now. Can't really put into words what's happening right now, but the spirit and strength of this town is shining through, and everyone is pitching in. Was as far downtown as possible today cheering on the tireless individuals who are digging in the war zone. The looks on their faces can't be described. The fire station across the street from me is turning into a memorial. We'll get through this. Thank you and be safe - Trent
August 20, 2001, 4:38 pm - "Island Blues" Hi guys! Wanted to drop in and tell you that absolutely nothing is going on. I really, really appreciate the efforts of Patty, Roger, and everyone in campaigning to get the sand out of Hank's shorts and get him back to Oakdale. Hopefully, we'll have some progress. I had heard that there might be a possible return this month, but I think some storylines may have gotten scrambled around, so who knows? In the meantime, it's just slow and muggy here in NYC. Thanks again for the support - hope everyone is well and working more than I am. I'll keep you updated. -Trent PS Netherlands here I come!
July 4, 2001, 6:55 pm - "Wow" Couldn't sign in under tdhs for some reason, but I just wanted to answer a few questions and say that I enjoyed all of your responses to my post. On vacation now, finally getting some sun (yes, I was exposed on an island for some time, but the show still wanted to keep Terri and I lily-white). First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMY! Hope it's a good one. Secondly, the possibility of a Katie/Henry romance. The groundwork for this possibility (along with, in my mind, a pretty important character point) was laid in one scene. We "torture" Cooley into revealing the location of the scuba gear, then Katie throws it on and runs into the reef. Cooley and I are very impressed - I'm looking after her with romantically-laced awe. Then the hermit says something like "So, do you like girls?", and I responded "yes, it's girls for me". I figured they finally outed Hank as a heterosexual, which takes away the fun I have making John Hensley nervous when Henry flirts w/him, but which I was ok w/ as long as they gave him a date. I think, though, that they CUT IT. This is a long-winded way of saying that I have no idea if a romance is in the future. Maybe Henry is a eunuch (I'll start using a soprano voice). Island stories - Here's two: when I kissed Don, we fall off camera. We were both laughing so hard (along w/the rest of the studio) that we basically stopped acting as soon as we hit the sand. The director comes on the mic and says "We need some filler sounds of you two struggling," so, w/the studio completely quiet, Don and I made grunting/struggling/kissing noises. It sounded like a gay porn flick. The other was getting that ridiculous bird to grab the "diamond." Terri wasn't given an opportunity to work w/these creatures (there were two, the diva and it's stunt double), and they wanted nothing to do w/her. First she was given little strips of meat to entice it over. When that failed, the trainer gave her FROZEN CHICKEN FETUSES! She had to hold it in her hand and go "Come on, hon. Doesn't it look good?!" Took about an hour. Man, what a long post. Sunny, love the contract campaign idea. It used to be just a gig, but it's been almost two years now. I'm in . Thanks
again for all your support guys.
June 26, 2001, 8:11 pm - "Hi all!" The PC is finally fixed so I can talk to my cyber-friends. Hope everyone is doing well. Glad to see you guys are enjoying ATWT Survivor. Eliza's post was very astute regarding ATWT laughing at itself. Hogan just wanted to have fun w/self-mockery, and we had a great time doing just that (they're paying me to roll around in a big sandbox - could be worse), but we weren't sure how folks would take it. I figure it's a nice break from all the tragedy in Oakdale. Anyway, glad to get your overwhelming support. I've gotten all buff b/c I thought I was going to have a stripped-down, Paul-Leyden-soap-hunk moment, but the best they could do was put me in a woman's one-piece (although I think I may have flashed millions in that petite sarong). Oh, and I slipped Cooley the tongue.Just kidding. Thanks to Jilli and the rest for their support on the SOD awards. I just wanted them to get a network so I could get that trip to lala land. Thank you for your votes and for all your snail mails (which, unfortunately, I'm incredibly behind on). We wrapped the beach segments a couple of weeks ago, but they should play most of the summer. By the way, if you want to see more of the fabulous Don Chastain ("Cooley"), he's playing a cult leader in the series "Murder in Small Town X" starting on July 24 (on FOX, I think). Thanks again for the love - Trent
August 22, 2000, 3:33 pm - "Henry Returns" Hey
folks! First off, thanks for all the mail - I think it's going to pay off. The
PR people told me not to say anything about Hank's future until an interview I
did yesterday w/SOD is printed (I'm told either 8/29 or 9/5), but I'll whisper
to you that it looks bright (and very interesting). No guarantees (you can't
trust P & G), but thank you for the tremendous support. The next three weeks
on the air are pretty tumultuous and should be fun - FINALLY, the Endicott
Awards! For those of you not in a "Survivor" - coma tomorrow night,
Terri and I will be giving an on-line chat interview around 8:30 (I think it's
with...actually I don't know. SOD or CBS). Thanks again and I'll talk to you all
again soon. Yours - Trent
July 30, 2000, 12:21 am - "Thanks again" Can't
say much b/c I've taken a page from Henry and consumed a couple of martinis, but
you guys are fabulous. Just got more Aug. taping dates and it looks busy, so
things should start getting fun.
July 27, 2000, 12:27 am - "Hi all" Just
got back home and NYC must have shifted to a tropical zone or the four horsemen
have been unleashed or something b/c it's friggin' hurricane season outside.
Anyway, I'm completely blown away and flattered by this board, and I want to
thank you all for the support. The snail mail is very appreciated (and I'm still
way behind on responding to it), and I'm sure tptb have taken note. I'm not
clear on Hank's future at the moment, but I've heard that I'm in all future
breakdowns. Of course, I've learned that plans can be scuttled by mysterious,
powerful people (some weird CBS/ Procter & Gamble cabal, I assume), so who
knows. At the very least, there is still plenty of unresolved Henry/Katie/Molly
stuff, so I'm optimistic. I love playing the guy, but I'm still on a schedule
that keeps me in the dark about my future beyond 3-4 weeks, and that's getting a
little tired. Someone posted in here that they saw me as "x-Henry"
(THAT sobered me up from vacation), but I haven't heard anything along those
lines. I guess that's the point - I haven't really heard anything. There are so
many fun things they could do w/Uncle Henry, but I understand that the creative
team and tptb have many characters w/similar/greater potential and plenty of
issues to satisfy, so I'm just riding it out.
And
I'm rambling. I think the telethon starts tomorrow, and it should be fun viewing
(director Ellen Wheeler kicks ass), and then I start shooting again soon (about
what, I don't know). Thanks again, guys. I'll post when possible. -Trent
July 4, 2000, 2:15 am - "You folks are incredible!" OK - I have limited internet access right now, so I came down to my internet cafe/dive and went to sunny's board and just got blown away. Thank you very, VERY much for the support. Let me try to answer as many questions as I can from the response to the 6/28 posting : 1) As a general response, the concerted effort to write to TPTB is deeply appreciated - I am having way too much fun playing Hank and any effort to keep him around makes me profoundly grateful; 2)There is a lull in my participation in "Folkdale" right now b/c everyone is coming back from maternity leave, but, in answer to sunny, my first work in a while will be an introduction to Lucinda (this could be a FUN relationship); 3)Yes, "Patricia" et al., Henry w/out the suit would be a personal victory; 4) To "loves2turn" and others who are picking up on the dynamic between Henry and Rose and especially Henry and Molly, we feel it too. I love working w/those two; 5) "jes" - The working day is separated into a morning and an afternoon shift. Morning starts w/travel to the studio around 6AM, afternoon you can sleep in a little. Sometimes you do both (lately I don't know when Martha Byrne sleeps). As for rehearsing, that's a big joke. There basically is none, in the traditional sense. We do in one day what a prime-time show does in a week. That's why I have tremendous respect for the people I'm working with, including the directors, who have to get as much as they can out of a very limited schedule; 6) AGAIN, sunny, thank you; 7) To "darby" and others suggesting collaborations - most folks seem interested in Henry/Lucinda or Henry/Emily. I haven't worked w/either but would love to. And Emma! What a blast. That actress is a PISTOL!; 8) "Jeanette" - experience has taught me that even good reviews (or "threads" on-line) can affect a performance. Something I was doing unconsciously before that audiences enjoy suddenly becomes conscious i.e. "is this what that person liked?". There is a danger to it. But hey, I'm here. And the photos are a riot!; 9)
Must comment on this - to "LLATWTF" and others re: the spit take - I
am so GLAD you enjoyed it! Yes, it was a complete old school moment. Right
before our final "rehearsal" (term used lightly) before going to tape,
I grabbed some Evian and tried it (w/ a bit of anxiety), w/complete confidence
that it would be cut. The director came out to give a few notes and then, almost
under his breath, he said "keep it." Simple stuff like that makes my
week. And now the internet cafe is closing on me again, so I have to go (not a
minute too soon - this is a #%@ essay). Again, Thank you - Trent
June 28, 2000, 12:28 am - "To you ATWT goodies" Again,
your response is fabulous. This is the only site I've responded to, and I'm glad
I did. Quick replies to what I've read :"Laura", yes - Henry needs a
love interest (oh my goodness does he need one), but I have no particular
preference as long as it's a fun couple. Yes, Mitzi would be a riot (we had fun
our one day together), or maybe someone like-minded in trouble-making (I've
heard interest in me going to the Intruder), but there are many characters Henry
has never met. Wouldn't it be fun if Maura walked in the door and Henry fell
head-over-heels? And Leslie Kay and I have talked about it (oh, the irony), but
it looks like Tom Eplin has this dance; "Kartsmom" - I would like any
storyline that gets Henry out of WOAK and out of a suit; "Jeanette" -
awesome "Oh..Henry!" page; "darby" - veteran viewers who
offer support to a rookie like me are especially wonderful; "Jilli"-
mustache-twirling characters like Henry are necessary in a melodrama but, since
they've kept me around, I would, like you, like to see more dimension. I try to
flesh him out when I can (depending on the script and director at the time), but
I don't think they know exactly what to do with me. Henry was supposed to be
around briefly, and as it went on I kept expecting his exit (yes, I think I was
supposed to be the stalker), but when you guys write in, it makes a difference,
and I think TPTB are a little stuck. Speaking of writing in - Thanks, thanks,
thanks, thanks. It influences TPTB and me, and I will answer as I get your
letters. OK, checking out the boards is weird b/c it's a daily review and that
can mess up an actor's head, but again, you guys have been great, and I'll post
and respond as I can. Snail mail me!
June 22, 2000, Trent's first e-mail to Sunny Hope I'm in the right place. The X kept the PC so I rarely journey into cyber-world, but tonight I did some surfing ( thank you internet cafe) and found this site. I'm Trent Dawson, and I love this thing you've set up. You captured some great (and bizarre) Henry looks. I'm happy that you like what I'm doing. Thank you - Trent |
